Shiner is a city in Lavaca County, Texas, United States. The town was named after Henry B. Shiner who donated 250 acres (1.0 km2) for railroad right of way. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 2,069. One of the most notable families of the area is the Wolters family. The "Edwin Wolters Memorial Museum", built in his honor is within walking distance of a brewery he worked with, The Spoetzl Brewery, which is now more commonly known as the Shiner brewery. Wikipedia
