Vaca is the a first-generation American born to Ecuadorian immigrants, Vaca is one of the leading Latina entrepreneurs and leaders in real estate in the country and has been recognized with several local, regional and national awards. She has been honored twice as a "Top Producer" (2004, 2005) by the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) and was named the "Business Woman of the Year" by the Business Advisor Council. In 2008, the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce nominated her as one of the 3 finalist for the TRIUNFANDO Awards in the category for Hispanic Female Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2012, Monica was named a "GIANT OF REO" (Real Estate Owned) by HOUSINGWIRE and she was also identified as the #2 Latino Real Estate Agent in Houston and #34 in the U.S. by NAHREP, The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. Top 150 Real Estate Professional in the nation by the Wall Street Journal/ Realty Trends two years running. In 2013, Vaca oversaw the grand opening of a new custom-designed office, which includes a state-of-the-art space for training and educational events. Vaca and her team of qualified and experienced professionals have been recognized as one of the top 20 teams in Houston and twice as a Double Centurion Office, given the Presidents Award, and received the distinction as a Fine Home and Estate Office.
