First time home buyers

Question

My husband and I are interested in buying our first home. The house next to his parents just came on the market and we spoke to the realtor and the filled out the application with their lender. Everything looked good except that my husband did not work in Hvac last season. He has been with the same company a few years just not this last summer. Lender told us we did not qualify for that reason.He is currently working there and we have all our income taxes too. Is it possible to get a loan even if my husband didnt work in hvac last summer? We really want the house but we dont know our options at this point. Or should we just wait 2 more years and try again? Seeking guidence and advice. Thanks in advanced .
