Brookshire leads Houston-area communities in home sales growth in Q4 2025
HOUSTON — (January 27, 2026) — New construction and attainable prices helped boost home sales in several communities throughout the Greater Houston area in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to HAR’s latest Hottest Communities in the Houston Area report.
Brookshire ranked first on the list, recording a 198.7 percent increase in home sales compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. A total of 227 homes were sold in this Waller County community, with new construction accounting for 93 percent of transactions. The average home price was $304,980, which is down 11.5 percent year-over-year.
After holding the top position for two consecutive quarters, Waller moved to the second spot on the list with sales 103.0 percent above last year’s level. The Crosby Area ranked third with an 82.7 percent year-over-year increase in transactions, followed by Galveston’s West End, which posted a 50.0 percent gain.
In many of the high-growth areas, newly built homes accounted for a dominant share of sales. New construction represented more than 70 percent of the transactions in Brookshire, Waller, Crosby, Magnolia/1488 West and Manvel/Iowa Colony.
Six of the top-performing communities recorded average home prices below the Houston area's average of $425,535, as cited in HAR’s

“Buyers across all corners of the Houston area are responding to opportunity,” said HAR Chair Theresa Hill with Compass RE Texas, LLC - Houston. “As mortgage rates edge down, communities offering new construction, buyer incentives and more affordable pricing are well positioned to continue attracting prospective homebuyers.”
The report also highlights the top performing luxury communities in the Greater Houston area, where homes were priced above $1 million. Royden Oaks/Afton Oaks recorded the largest year-over-year percentage increase in home sales for the second quarter in a row. There were 11 transactions in the fourth quarter of 2025 in the community, which is an 88.3 percent increase compared to the same time last year. The average home price was $1,340,091.
