While earning a bachelor's degree in Art from Houston Baptist University, I further developed my creativity which I have applied to my work with preschool and elementary-aged children. During this time, I also enjoyed coaching high school volleyball at Houston Christian High School. As I completed both my Master's in Counseling from Houston Baptist University and my Master's in Social Work from the University of Houston, I developed keen active listening skills, effective communication strategies, an increased awareness of the needs of others, and a strengths-based approach to working with people. In addition, I earned my PhD in Social Work from the University of Houston while I continued to become more detail-oriented as I analyzed statistical data and developed relevant theoretical perspectives.
