  • "As I purchased my first investment property out of state, I would say that I was lucky to work with Maria. I previously worked with 2 real estate agents before her that didn't pay me much attention nor seem helpful, so I moved on. I am glad to have stumbled across her profile on Zillow.





    There are 2 characteristics that proved to me she was the perfect agent to work with.


    First was her looking out for my best interest. I knew a bit about the Houston market before I began searching for homes, but didn't know much when it came to renting out the property. She assisted me in offering a fair price if she felt the property wasn't worth the asking price, she offered advice when it came to fixing up the property before showing, she gave me a second opinion when I was quoted for repairs needed, and the list can go on. Since I was only able to view homes by shopping online, she offered to drive out to properties I was interested in to check them out.





    By looking out for my best interest, she earned my trust (which is the second characteristic that I value). It is not easy to trust someone you've never met in person, especially when it comes to purchasing a home out of state. After the offer was accepted, I needed to submit earnest and option funds asap to someone I've only spoken to over the phone. Adding on, the home needed appliances so she shopped around to get me a great deal on a refrigerator, washer, and dryer. She sent me pictures for my viewing, but overall I trusted her judgement when it came to quality of the items. The same thing can be said when it came to preparing the property for tenants to view. After ordering a home inspection, I trusted her judgement on what needed immediate attention.

    Catherine is an agent who has experience working on all sides of a real estate transaction. She began her career in finance as a bank teller, and later a bank manager of First Heights Bank. She has experienced the savings and mortgage-lending crisis while originally managing a portfolio of up to 600 bank foreclosures. It was during that time when Catherine was awarded her real estate license. Also, because of her training as a bank manager, she was required to learn how to qualify buyers for a mortgage loan and also holds her license to lend with the State of Texas. There is nothing more disappointing than having buyers think they are able to purchase a home only to find out they aren't qualified after all, she said.

    Knowledge of Houston's diverse communities has allowed Catherine to represent clients throughout the area. Her childhood was spent in Galveston, Texas, enjoying everything about being by the water.
