Philip attended Davidson College and received a bachelor of arts in art history from the University of the South. When not working, he is very involved with arts community and is a member of Rice Design Alliance, Houston Museum of Fine Arts, The Menil Collection, and Trees for Houston.

    The Malveaux family's love of real estate dates back to 1749 when two brothers were gifted a newfound freedom and hundreds of acres of land in the Opelousas/Saint Martinsville area of southern Louisiana, where many Malveauxs still remain today. In 1940 Jospeh Rushton Malveaux, Andrew's grandfather, bought land in Houston's Riverside Terrace area, which the family has called home-base ever since. Andrew began his career in real estate 25 years ago by working for the world-renowned, non-profit organization Project Row House, where he served in many capacities, including Executive Director.
