Kelly has an been an enthusiastic volunteer and has held leadership positions with Harvard College Fund, St. John's School, Presbyterian School, West University Elementary, National Charity League, West University Little League Auxiliary, West University Softball Association, Southside Place Civic Club and Swim Team, and the Houston Area Women's Center. Kelly earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Drake University where she was an intercollegiate athlete and four-year varsity letter winner.
