He later moved to Houston prior to attending Texas A&M University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree of Science in Geophysics. He graduated Cum Laude and Phi-Kappa-Phi which represents being in the top 7% of your graduating class. He was named to the Geoscience Dean's List and was nominated for outstanding Senior.
