A resident of Houston since the mid-1970s, Phyllis hails from Memphis, TN. Prior to her successful career selling residential real estate she was a property manager for more than 20 years and managed portfolios for investors all over the world. “That experience allowed me to develop a wide range of communication skills to include investors in Class-A as well as low-income properties,” she says. “From $20,000 to $20 million – as Martha likes to say!”
A strong believer in thinking outside the box to get a deal done, Phyllis enjoys problem solving. “Making things happen, every day is a new day – and, most importantly, every client becomes a friend,” she says. “I enjoy every moment of what I do, especially educating my clients to the market. I love guiding my sellers to determine market value for their home, and finding a home that’s a great match for my buyers.”
When not working, Phyllis volunteers her time as a Friend of Ronald McDonald House. “I’m into everything for Ronald McDonald House – preparing evening meals, filling Santa’s House, and working on fund raisers. I was the chairperson of the 2014 Girls Just Wanna Have Fun fundraiser, an all-women event. The smiles from the children we help and the looks of comfort on their parents’ faces are priceless gifts.”
Phyllis adores cooking, trying new wines and traveling “anywhere there’s water.” Her son and daughter-in-law live in Northern California where he raises organic vegetables and is a well-known caterer. Phyllis enjoys going there every few months as grandmother to two young granddaughters. Phyllis also claims an extended family of two young grandchildren, two sons who are doctors, a daughter in the film industry, and a son who is a professional barista.
