Kaysie Smashey is a proud Texan! She grew up in El Paso and attended college at the University of Texas. She began her real estate career in San Angelo and then moved to Houston, saving the best for last! Kaysie graduated with University Honors with a degree in Marketing from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. She was recruited and competed on the UT women tennis team for four years, earning Academic All-American status and multiple All-Big 12 Conference First Team Awards. Following college, she continued playing on the professional tour and eventually worked as a head tennis professional. Midst this excitement, Kaysie discovered her love for real estate, investing and renovating several homes while helping others find their first and/or forever home. Laura Lee hails from Uvalde near Garner State Park in West Texas. She attended Uvalde High School and earned a degree in finance from Texas A&M University. A Houston resident for more than 20 years, Laura Lee entered residential real estate sales after working as a property adjuster for insurance giants USAA and Aetna. Her skills in evaluating residential construction, renovation and remodeling, combined with an inviting personality, attention to detail, and strong organizational and communication skills, give Laura Lee the tools to guide buyers and sellers through the challenges of Houston's home market.

Community service is important to Laura Lee and she is actively involved in a number of organizations. Her current commitments include the Houston Alumnae Association of Delta Delta Delta "The SALE" which raises money to find a cure for childhood cancer, Strake Jesuit Mothers Club, BEAR (BE A Resource for CPS Kids), Houston Aggie Medical Society (HAMS), Texas A&M Association of Former Students, St. Cecilia Catholic School and church, St. Agnes Academy former Board of Directors, and sustaining member of the Junior League of Houston.

Laura Lee's three children range in age from an Internal Medicine resident in San Diego, to a film maker based in Paris, to a freshman at Strake Jesuit. She has a beloved Labrador retriever and rescue cat. Laura Lee loves traveling, the outdoors, doubles tennis, kayaking, skeet shooting and fly fishing.

I've felt the calling to "put a dent in the universe" since I was 9 years old. The traditional path that everyone else was on was never an option. For me, it meant having an impact for God with my life, something Anderson and I both thought was only possible in vocational ministry. However, I've always been entrepreneurial and had a natural craving for anything business related. When trying to reconcile the two passions, I finally realized that God was calling me to use business to care for people. Anderson and I first started trying to figure out what that meant in 2009 and after some meandering, partnered up in 2013. After running the real estate gamut together and realizing our true passion, we formed Connected Realty to focus on helping people successfully navigate the buying and selling process. That passion for people soon expanded to include growing a team of agents, whose lives we could have an even greater impact on.

Personal: In addition to my work at Connected, I helped start CrowdSource Rescue with two of my best friends, which was used to rescue over 30,000 people in the wake of Hurricane Harvey and has since become a major player in disaster response.
