Betsy Vanderbrouk "sold" her first house as a young teenager – and was hooked. Betsy grew up observing her Realtor-mother negotiate high-end residential real estate transactions, and what she learned made an indelible impression. At the age of 14, and with her mother out of town, she successfully matched a buyer to a house and enlisted her mother's working partner to finalize the offer. Betsy's mother was stunned but pleased and paid her a $40 commission, an important learning experience on the value of up-front, clear negotiation (even with your mother) that Betsy never forgot.

No stranger to relocation on a personal level, Betsy and her family relocated to London for two years with a corporate move in the early 1990s. Always a ready volunteer, Betsy was a Guardian Ad Litem for Child Advocates for many years and an active participant in projects at Palmer Memorial Church where she is a member. She helped start such successful and well-known events as the Memorial Villages 4th of July Parade, Memorial Villages National Night Out, and numerous other community sponsored and underwritten projects. When her children were in school, she was an active volunteer at St. Francis Episcopal School, St. John's School, Spring Branch Middle School and Memorial High School.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Betsy graduated from Chatham Hall in Virginia and the University of Arizona. She lived with her family in Piney Point Village for more than 20 years and taught at the St. Francis Children's Center for six years. Betsy is the mother of two adult sons: Christian, who lives in New York City with his wife and two young boys; and Peter, who lives in Colorado Springs with his wife. She enjoys antiquing and "traveling anywhere" but especially to New York and Colorado to visit her family.
Kaysie Smashey is a proud Texan! She grew up in El Paso and attended college at the University of Texas. She began her real estate career in San Angelo and then moved to Houston, saving the best for last! Kaysie graduated with University Honors with a degree in Marketing from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. She was recruited and competed on the UT women tennis team for four years, earning Academic All-American status and multiple All-Big 12 Conference First Team Awards. Following college, she continued playing on the professional tour and eventually worked as a head tennis professional. Midst this excitement, Kaysie discovered her love for real estate, investing and renovating several homes while helping others find their first and/or forever home. Since 2006, she earned the respect and trust of her clients, always displaying integrity and grit for her people. In her free time, you can find her playing tennis, golfing, or looking for Mr. Right. (or spending time with her five nieces and nephew).
