Bernadette Arzu was transplanted from Belize City to Fort Bend County many moons ago. Her parents were on a quest for new opportunities, so, they packed up the entire family and moved lock, stock and barrel to Fort Bend County. She has happily made it her home ever since.
Bernadette also has a strong commitment to giving back to the community. She is one of the co-founders of the non-profit CAFA Foundation which is dedicated to providing scholarships to needy Garifuna high school students in Punta Gorda, Belize. Since its inception in 2002 the Foundation has funded 62 scholarships. There are currently 21 student participants in the program. Bernadette is actively involved in all aspects of the day-to-day activities of running the Foundation. Despite leading a busy lifestyle, Bernadette always makes sure to enjoy spending time with family, to explore the nooks and crannies of the greater Houston area as well of checking off items on her bucket list.
