Tomeka DeBruce, a Shreveport, LA native, honorably and proudly served her country in the United States Army for 25 years before retiring in 2018. Having traveled the world and lived in different places during her term of service, including other Texas cities, it was the vibrant hub of unique ethnic and cultural diversity and endless educational and career opportunities that drew her to the city of Houston where she earned a Master's Degree in Professional Communications and Digital Media from Texas Southern University. Go Tigers!!! During Tomeka's military service, she deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2013 to 2014. She also deployed to Soto Cano Honduras in support of Joint Task Force Bravo from 2010-2011. Tomeka has earned over 30 military awards, citations, and decorations, awarded for valor, leadership, education, and meritorious service. Tomeka learned advanced skills in leadership, teamwork, and organization, unique to the armed forces, and she brings them to bear in her Real Estate career to serve her buyers and sellers. Tomeka entered the Real Estate world because she wanted to emulate the wonderful experiences that she'd personally had with great agents as a buyer, while also meeting and helping new people accomplish homeownership, and she hasn't looked back. They're like cardboard -- stiff, bland, and identical to every other bio out there. Instead of boasting ad nauseum about awards and accomplishments you're not interested in, I'm taking the novel approach of actually giving you what you want -- real answers to questions you're probably wondering right now.

Will you return my calls and emails? Yes. Without question. I realize this is one of the major frustrations the general public has dealing with agents. I get dozens of calls and emails daily, and I work hard to reply as quickly as possible.

I've met many Realtors who are jerks. Are you? It depends on who you ask. If you ask certain agents who have stood between my clients and their real estate goals, they'll probably say "yes". A handful of people think I leave golden footprints in the sand. Those are the two extremes, and most people's opinion falls somewhere in the middle. I take pride in being approachable, friendly and frank. And if you need a quick real estate brain or a strong dose of honesty, you're in the right place. Loyalty to family, clients, and friends is one of my core values. Want to really find out if I'm a jerk? Mess with one of those people. Pet approved! That's not really a thing, however, other people's pets tend to like me, and I like them!

Do You Have experience doing exactly what I need? Until you tell me what you need, there is no way of knowing. That said, I have been working with buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants since June of 1991. I've seen a lot of change over the years... A LOT OF CHANGE! In order to keep up, I am constantly attending continuing educations classes, real estate related seminars, open houses, previewing new listings, etc... If I can't help, I can get you referred to another agent who can.

What do you like to do? I'm a bit of a foodie and like to cook, think mowing the lawn is cathartic, have never been to a museum I didn't like and love spending time with my family and friends. Let's get together for coffee!
