In addition to her wealth of knowledge and training in real estate, Jami worked in the subsea oil and gas industry for nearly 15 years, and was a hairdresser for 8 years at both Regis and Aveda Salons. These experiences uniquely equipped her with excellent customer service skills, sales and marketing skills, contract writing and negotiation skills, great problem-solving skills, attention to detail, creativity, patience, as well as impressive listening and analytical skills. Katie Chachere Hester graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She also received a Graduate Certificate in Advanced International Affairs from the Bush School at Texas A&M University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude. Katie practiced real estate and finance law for approximately seven years with the law firm of Locke Lord, LLP. While at Locke Lord, Katie represented clients in the acquisition, disposition, and development of commercial real estate, including shopping centers, apartments, condominiums, office buildings, mixed use/urban developments, and retail and office leasing. She also represented borrowers and lenders in lending transactions. Katie also has experience with zoning and land use, community and economic development, affordable housing, and development of cellular tower sites, including issues involving the Federal Telecommunications Act of 1995. Katie spent approximately two years as the Assistant Vice President - Legal Counsel of Campus Living Villages – U.S., an international student accommodation provider, where she was responsible for all legal matters in the United States. Katie also served as a Director on the Board of CCHM Management Holding Corp., the parent company of Campus Living Villages – U.S. Katie recently joined The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center as a Legal Officer in the General Business and Education Section, with a focus on real estate matters. She is involved in numerous charitable organizations throughout Houston, and is also a member of C.R.E.W. (Commercial Real Estate Women).

I am a native of India, but I grew up in New York, attended law school, and went into the field of law. I later moved to Alabama and pursued my studies in Criminal Justice, then relocated to California and got my Criminology and Restorative Justice Studies Degree. That was a wonderful change of pace for me. Pursuant to that I did mediation and Victim Offender Reconciliation Program. I volunteered for CASA and helped those who had no one to advocate for them. I have always been very enthusiastic about helping people. Finally, I got my MPA at Penn State University along with Homeland Security and Defense Certificate. I am a Criminologist, but my passion for real estate took me to the path of being a realtor in Texas.

As you can see, I moved around quite a bit and finding the right home with all my needs was particularly important to me. Finding the right agent makes all the difference. I learned from my experiences, what to do (and not to do) to ease the stress a Buyer/Seller may have.
