A fourth generation Texan, Walter (Lane) grew up in Baytown and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. He is also a Certified Public Accountant, and he is retired from Amegy Bank of Texas. In the financial services and real estate industry for 49 years, Lane joined Fort Bend Federal Savings & Loan Association in 1978 and served as Financial Vice President, Executive Vice President, and President and Chief Operating Officer. Lane also served as Vice Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Fort Bend Holding Corporation and as Chairman of the Board for Mitchell Mortgage/Amegy Mortgage Company.
Banking and real estate run in Lane's blood – his father was a Realtor®, and his grandfather started Fort Bend Federal Savings & Loan in 1933 and was also the Tax Assessor-Collector for Fort Bend County. His history in and knowledge of the financial services industry and accounting allows Lane to bring a multi-dimensional perspective to the real estate world – Lane's mindset is geared with analytical and problem-solving skills not often seen in the real estate world.
