The answer is "yes" if you want it to show up on HAR.COM the local Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Contact an agent to get your property listed this way more prospective renters can find your property and get it rented quicker then non MLS properties.
Hope this helps.

Only members of HAR.com can list properties on the MLS. Real estate agents do not have to be members although many are.
I would highly recommend going through a realtor whether you are listing a home for sale or lease and whether one is purchasing or leasing. It is always best to be represented by someone looking out for your specific interests in a transaction. Not to mention that listing a property on MLS is putting it in front of a large number of prospective buyers/tenants who are searching constantly themselves but also have their agents them up on instant notifications. The properties also get sent to Zillow, trulia, homes.com and many more in order to maximize the exposure to the greatest number of buyers.
Many times For Sale/Rent By Owner's attract investors, buyers looking for a "steal," non-qualified buyers/renters (as a realtor should pre-qualify), etc.
Hope this helps! If you have any other questions don't hesitate to contact me. I'd be happy to connect you with a realtor in your area of town!
