There are houses on the MLS that accept section 8 vouchers. The potential renter can use the filter for section 8 housing to locate rentals that fit in that criteria. There are landlords willing to work with vouchers who are not listed but when asked will consider the voucher for the right candidate. Find an agent who is willing to go beyond the filter options and contact listing agents, sometimes assisting in educating them on vouchers so that you enlarge the choice of inventory for those who are using vouchers.

There are also websites and log ins specifically for section 8 housing that are provided to the families that are currently enrolled and using the program. I would recommend searching on those sites as well because they may have information in regards to other families that are already planning a move already, but the home is not listed in MLS. It is a process for section 8 housing families to move, therefore they are normally planned out more in advance than other renters. I hope this helps.

Section 8 housing is available. There are options. First, you could do your research and locate an agent that would be willing to assist you with your property search. Second, you could search HAR on your own and choose Section 8 as your search criteria. Third, the office where you got your Section 8 packet may have a current list of landlords that accept Section 8. Fourth, there are several online rental sites such as www.gosection8.com and others.
