I am Relocating to Houston from Dallas and I wish to lease a house

Hi I will be relocating from Dallas to Houston for a new exciting job opportunity. I will be working in the Richmond Galleria area. I would like to lease a house that is in a safe area, with easy access to the freeways. I have heard that the traffic there is worse than Dallas so i would want to be in an area that I can get to and from work easily. I like the city life but I don't want to be right in the heart of all the hustle and bustle of city living. I am not sure what areas I should be looking in for a lease home. Currently I have a 45 minute commute in Dallas and I am OK with that but if I could find something a little shorter that would be ideal. I live in a northern suburb of Dallas currently in a 3,500 sqt 4 bed room home I would like something along those lines in the home I am looking to lease in Houston as well.

Addtional Details:
  • I also would like a single family type home. - Jul 24, 2013
  • I am looking to spend no more than $2,000 a month on the lease. I was also told that the sugarland area was pretty good for the commute to the Galleria area. - Jul 24, 2013

Hello! Welcome to Houston. I relocated to Houston from Dallas myself 3 years ago and love it here. I know of several areas that would be an easy commute to work for you that are in great areas with great schools. I own several rental properties myself, so I know what property owners are looking for when choosing a lease applicant. In todays market, good lease properties are going very quickly. I have a system to help my clients stand out from their competition. Call me today so I can show you how I can help. 832-285-2865.

Hi Eleasha,

As others have mentioned, you have provided some great information. Have you started using HAR.com as a tool to search for a home? There is an abundance of information on this site. Are there any other concerns/preferences about the neighborhood you would prefer? Let me know if I may be of assistance.

Welcome to Houston!
You have many options for a lease. The location may be influenced by your price range, (which you did not provide).

You can search the Houston rental market on HAR.com for an idea of what you can get at various price points in different locations.
Here is the link to the search page,

Our MLS is divided into different areas. Here is the link to the MLS Area Map, http://search.har.com/engine/dispMapSearch.cfm

Feel free to email or text me if you have any questions, I'm here to help.

I wish you the very best in your relocation.

I would be more than happy to help you!

You provided a lot of great information to help out in your search. I'd need to know what you are comfortable spending a month in rent as well as if you prefer a home/townhome/condo/high-rise/apartment.

Based on your criteria I could pull up different areas around Houston that may be of interest to you so you can see the options and narrow down the area that will fit your needs best.
