I write for Community Impact Newspaper, and we have a real estate edition coming up that will feature trends including Fort Bend ISD school rezoning and how it affects home values/property taxes in Sugar Land/Missouri City. I would like to interview a Realtor(s) who can discuss one or the other. My email is chall@communityimpact.com. Thank you!

Yes, most likely. The property values are affected by the schools. Even people with no children understand that a good school may boost their home value.

Yes, it can. Some schools are more desirable than others and people with children make every effort to purchase a home zoned to the most ideal school for their children. They will pay extra for that privilege. It's hard to put an exact $ amount but a Realtor can show you how properties zoned to one school are priced differently than similar properties zoned to a different school. In some areas it's subtle, in others, it's quite obvious.
