There are other options in paragraph 6 of your listing agreement but if you and your seller choose option A, then it must be entered within 3 days according to HAR.
Many sellers will think 3 days is too long. Avoiding a fine is not my main focus in getting my listings entered quickly but I'm motivated so they will start getting exposure and sell quickly. I enter them on MLS as soon as I possibly can.
In the Listing Agreement contract, on page 3, in paragraph 6, sections 6.A.1.(a) or (b), or 6.A.2 determine the timeframe for submitting the listing into MLS. This paragraph conforms to our MLS Rules for entering listings into Multiple.
See all below answers but if you wish to extend the actual listing onto the MLS without receiving a fine, you can write an amendment send to HAR and also post in the attached documents for Agents only. I did this for a listing agreement where we had to paint the outside and then the inside but I wanted to complete the listing agreement with the owner before all the work was done and ready for staging, photographing and listing on the MLS.
Not sure the motive to the question - but the seller has this right and it can be changed with an amendment at any time:
(2) Broker will not file this Listing with any Multiple Listing Services (MLS) or other listing service. Notice: Seller acknowledges and understands that if this option is checked: (1) Seller’s Property will not be included in the MLS database available to real estate agents and brokers from other real estate offices who subscribe to and participate in the MLS, and their buyer clients may not be aware that Seller’s Property is offered for sale; (2) Seller’s Property will not be included in the MLS’s download to various real estate Internet sites that are used by the public to search for property listings; and (3) real estate agents, brokers, and members of the public may be unaware of the terms and conditions under which Seller is marketing the Property.
I see signs go up in the area I live all the time and sometimes the property never hits MLS, or it goes straight to pending.I would hope that if it is being held out, it's because the sellers request so, and not as a way to sell a pocket listing. It could be construed as violating the Equal Housing Opportunity guidelines.

You have 3 days to get your listing on the MLS from the date it was signed. If you need more time, you can have your client sign a HAR300 form to exclude listing from MLS until an agreed upon date.

First paragraph says:
LISTING PROCEDURES 1. Listings and Types of Properties: Listings of residential properties of the following types, which are listed subject to a real estate broker’s license, located within the territorial jurisdiction of the Multiple Listing Service (“MLS”) taken by Participants (also referred to as Participant Subscribers) must be broker-loaded with the MLS within three (3) days after the commencement of the term of the listing contract and all necessary signatures of seller(s) or lessor(s) have been obtained.
Depends on what your listing agreement says, may need to hold off to get the property show ready and photographed! *** Yet you will need proper paperwork if keeping it out of MLS for longer than each Association's agreed time. HAR is 3 days It is possible for the property not be listed in MLS, depends on what the seller wants.
Under MLS rules on the portal dashboard (left side of screen). And then under "Top MLS Rules to Remember" Failure to File Within 3 days $100 fine All listings must be entered into MLS within 3 days of a signed listing agreement that indicates the seller wishes to utilize MLS. A signed listing agreement is required for each listing entered in MLS. The list date entered should be the “Commencement Date” of the listing agreement.
