I've been offered a job out in Houston, West Chase area, but need to get something asap, and don't have time to visit and check things out. I'd be needing to get a place ASAP but don't feel comfortable signing a lease sight unseen.

There are definitely places with month-to-month rentals available in the Houston area. I suggest checking out online rental listings or contacting a local real estate agent to assist you in finding such properties.

a hotel could be the way to go until you can search for something different, a realtor is a great resource to assist you with that request...deric.carter@exprealty.com

Hi Brian,I would highly recommend enlisting the services of a realtor in your search for a rental (whether it be short term or long term). Your realtor will be able to search properties for you that meet your short term criteria (there aren't a lot of options as most landlords prefer to lease 12 months or longer), do video tours for you, etc.Be advised that the Residential Lease Application now has a place where you check whether or not you have personally visited the property and strongly advises that you do. The Residential Lease also makes note of this in Paragraph 15. I say all of this as a realtor that represents a lot of Landlords in the Greater Houston area and not personally viewing the property has become an issue when people don't know what they are getting into. In that case, you will likely be best off in an airbnb or extended stay hotel for a few days / week while you get here and find a place in person.I would be happy to connect you to an amazing Tenant Agent.Darby GrimmettBroker Associate COMPASS RE TEXAS, LLC936.827.9217darby@darbygrimmett.com

In my opinion, you would be better off with extended-stay hotels or Airbnb, with no leases to sign and deposits to be made.

I did a month to month lease literally last week. They are everywhere. A little more pricey but available.

It's difficult to find a month to month. However, a good Realtor will be able to assist you with a lease. I have personally helped clients buy and lease properties site unseen. A lease is temporary, so just find an agent whom you're comfortabl with.

Good Question! There are some leases that are short term. I would search for search term lease in the desired area, and call each agent to see if they would be open to search term lease.

There are several companies that do short term leasing of furnished homes. They advertise to traveling nurses for example.

Yes, there are many places. The best thing to do is to google "Corporate Housing". They also come furnished. "Houston Corporate Housing" is one at 855-642-5766. Also try "Pleasantstayapt.com". I hope that helps you. Good luck!
