I just helped a client that was looking for an over 55 active community. We went to Towne Lake in Cypress, Del Webb Saltgrass in Richmond, and Del Webb in The Woodlands. We also visited another new community near the Woodlands. Del Webb communities BY FAR were the most appealing. They have incredible facilities, the floor plans are developed for aging in place and accessibility and it was affordable. My clients love it. They have made friends in the neighborhood and seem to be having the time of their live.

Dear Krystal,
There is a darling 55+ community in south houston, actually Pearland, called Country Place, it is right on the golf course and features include a gated community.

Call me for a consultation.

In The Woodlands, one can live in the 55+ communities of Windsor Hills and Windsor Lakes. Also, there is an area of Alden Bridge that is 55 and over. Then, along 1488 is the Del Webb community.

There are some great communities in Pearland, as well as The Woodlands. I like Pearland because it is 15-20 min from the Texas Medical Center. You can also find 55+ communities in Katy, and Towne Lake in the Cypress, TX area.

I work in The Woodlands/Conroe area and we have a great, new Del Webb community here. Also Bonterra at Woodforest which is between The Woodlands and Lake Conroe. Another good one where I just sold a home is Windsor Hills in The Woodlands area. There are also some smaller areas within The Woodlands that area great! Let me know if I can help you!

I would like to recommend Bellavita at Green Tee. It is a gated community with all the amenities including club house, heated pool, gym, computer room, and more. Also, the yard maintenance included in monthly maintenance fee. There is a home that recently came on the market. Please let me know if you would like more information.

Del Webb in Richmond is a fabulous, affordable community with incredible options/activities for an active, vibrant retirement lifestyle. The 28,000 square foot lake house is the centerpiece of the community where all the action is. Location is easy access to medical facilities in the Sugarland area. There are new build options as well as a selection of resale options.

Bonterra is a great option for a bit more luxury lifestyle. It is nestled in the larger Cross Creek Ranch community in Fulshear. It is currently being built and will have a community center and activities to foster great social connections. Additionally, Wellspring in Tamarron is designed for the 55+ buyer. This community will be a much quieter and smaller neighborhood with access to amenities featured in Tamarron. This is also a Fulshear location.

Cinco Ranch has a 55+ community of Heritage Grand. This community is fully built out so resale is the only way to go. It features a central clubhouse with activities designed for residents.

If apartments are needed, there are Watercrest and Atria with locations around the city.

I am very active in the seniors market as a Seniors Real Estate Specialist. Let me know how I can help!

Hi Krystal,
What I have found is that there is a big difference between the communities that are in the suburbs and the one that are in town.
Suburban ones will have more space and amenities. The ones in town don't have as much (or for much more money) but usually offer free transportation to nearby amenities on a more frequent basis.

Krystal, There are several around the Houston area so it depends on what area would be most convenient to you! In the south area we do Have The Village at Tuscan Lakes. I have assisted several families into the community and so far they have been very satisfied! If I can help you further you are welcome to call or text me at 713-299-5832

Krystal,

I've always liked & appreciated the amenities in the Del Webb communities. They are located north of downtown Houston in the Woodlands and another one the Southwest of downtown Houston in the Richmond/Rosenberg area. I especially like the Bonterra subdivision north of Houston in Woodforest, which is minutes from Conroe. They offer 10 different floor plans with several price points.

I would say Del Webb (not in Houston but in The Woodlands), University Place, and The Buckingham! I'm sure there are more but those are the only ones I have heard about first-hand from people I know. Hope this helps!
