Also, due to my ex-husband (which is part of the bad credit) there is now a foreclosure on my credit score due to him not taking my name off the account. This is clearly stated in our divorce decree and I'm still going to court about this. I have already been turned away buy 1 realtor. My question is will I be able to find some place to rent or a landlord who will work with me?

As a landlord, I look more at your landlord history than credit although credit is carefully looked at also.
Double deposit makes the deal happen in many case. Be proactive and respectfull of your landlord, they will like it.

Hi Chataqua,

Yes, bad credit can be an issue with many landlords. Some landlords may require a double security deposit, in order to get the application approved.

Best of Luck.

Chataqua,
While not the rule, there are home rentals on the market that require a 600 credit score. Be advised they may carry other requirements as well(proof of income, etc). The credit score is used to help landlords determine how much risk they are taking. It may be best to go back to your attorney and ask the for help to correct the issues that stemmed from your divorce.
