Is there a site for crime in specific areas?
1,127Looking to move back to the Houston area, but I realize there are certain someone areas/streets in each community that can be a little sketchy. This is a huge concern for me because I have children. Is there a reliable way to learn about these areas online? I live 3 hours away currently and don't have the luxury to just drive through.

spotcrime.com but it will scare you if you look too much at it:) . You need to check if your community has a paid constable, that will reduce greatly the amount of crime.

While there are many sites you can use, I would recommend calling the local police station and asking them about the neighborhood. Most of them are very responsive to this type of inquiry as they want citizens to be informed and involved in the communities they monitor. Best of luck to you.

I used spotcrime.com when purchasing my home and even after. Everyday I get an email of the thefts or issues that occur. Crime is everywhere but some areas definitely have more than others. I like the site because it shows a map of the community and a description of exactly what happened.
