I have been a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser in the Houston area since 1985 and on the FHA appraiser list since 1991. I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree at Southwest Texas State College and then a Master Degree in Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin. I have owned and/or been involved in several businesses. In addition to the appraisal business, I have invested in real estate, own rental homes and have been a member of several investor groups.
David Zambrano, my associate, began his training with me in 2017. He worked part-time with me as he completed requirements for his certification; he received his appraiser certificate in 2022. To become a state certified appraiser, there are extensive education requirements as well as real world experience that must be logged. Likewise, appraisers must abide by a stringent industry code of ethics and observe the national standards of practice of real estate appraisal. The tenets for carrying out an appraisal and communicating the results comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). We also abide by the Realtor Code of Ethics.
During his appraiser training, David was also employed as an adjunct professor with San Jacinto College and as a bilingual educator with Deer Park ISD. For many years, David also worked as an independent residential remodeler; therefore, he knows the costs involved in seeing a project through. Now he has a much better understanding of the value improvements may bring to a residence. David's fluency in Spanish is an asset in addition to his other qualifications.
