That core value has stood with me throughout my life. As a veteran of the U.S Navy, I developed a core belief of discipline and commitment. I then earned my degree in Electrical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University and spent several years working as a Data Analyst. I chose to pivot careers to real estate, because I became fascinated with the rapidly growing real estate market in the Houston area. I want to help people with this transition in life. It was there I met my husband, John David. Work brought us to his hometown of Lake Jackson, where I earned my degree in Elementary Education from UHCL. While I loved teaching 1st and 2nd grade for 5 years, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. Raising our 4 boys was hard work, but my love of design led me to a new venture. In 2018 I found myself opening an online boutique called All American Pretty. I also enjoy getting to use my creativity and eye for detail to lend a hand to family and friends with their own design projects. For twenty years I have been in real estate. Selling it is much better suited for my personality than appraising, but it's not because I'm sales-y. I moved to this side of real estate because I just wanted to help people not make a mistake in buying property. Sometimes I feel more like a counselor, and I talk people out of properties all the time, both commercial and residential, but isn't that what we're here for? To offer our opinion and guide, based on our expertise? Meaning: experience + intuition + industry/market/local knowledge. I didn't switch gears to make it big, I switched so I could be a helper.
