Santiago was born and raised in Houston, Texas and lived in the San Antonio area for five years. This has given him an opportunity to build an extensive network and form close relationships with local businesses and people.

Before earning his Master's in Education, he served as a third-grade math and science teacher for three years where he earned the Teacher of the Year award and Beginning Teacher of the Year the two consecutive years prior.
