Beginning as a Realtor in August 1967, and receiving my Brokers license in August of 1972. Prior to receiving my real estate license, I worked in the title Industry as a runner, an abstractor, an examiner and then closer (today referred to as an escrow officer.) The title business led to my interest in real estate. Residential, as well as commercial, are my areas of expertise. I recently received the designation of REALTOR EMERITUS from the National Association of REALTORS for having served over 40 years to our industry.I have been a past President of the Galveston Association of REALTORS, served on various committees, including Professional Standards, Education , MLS and Secretary of the Board of Directors. Voted Best REALTOR in Galveston in 2003 by the Galveston County Daily News . I was an adjunct instructor in real estate for 17 years at Galveston College. Taught many courses in different areas of our business. I participated in several developments of historical properties on the island as well as resort properties on the west end beach and bay areas. Recently honored by my colleague's with the Golden Heart Award for being the most helpful in our office to other agents!

Even though technology is a major force in our industry today, I still believe that personal service one-on-one or face-to-face with our clients, is the best way to build lasting relationships. Some of my closest friends started as Prospects, then Buyer or Seller Customers, many more than once or twice.

Drawn by the lure of the sea, Marks and his family relocated to Galveston in mid-2015 and now call the beautiful Texas gulf coast home. As a resident and professional in this coastal region, he is intimately familiar with the unique issues related to coastal living, specifically coastal insurance issues (flood, wind), differing building codes and construction requirements. Marks brings a wealth of experience in home renovation, commercial construction, and historic restoration, valuable knowledge given the amount of older homes and historic buildings on the island.

Marks started his career managing a variety of large public assembly, multi-use and commercial properties in markets across the United States. After 25 years of operating commercial properties, 2012 found him jumping into the world of residential real estate, launching his practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. As you can imagine, real estate, like everything else in Las Vegas, was dynamic and always moving, and he quickly became a top producer within his brokerage.


When Marks is not immersed in the world of real estate, he enjoys playing golf on the island's golf courses, nurturing vibrant tropical plants and relishing the freshest local seafood. Simple pleasures include exploring the island on his golf cart, sunset gatherings with friends and quiet time on his porch enjoying the breeze off the water.

Barbara has been a Real Estate Broker for the last 20 years and has been a top producer in the real estate markets in Houston. Houston real estate is constantly changing and becomes more challenging and sophisticated every year. Barbara is consistently informed on market trends, helping Clients make the best decisions possible in buying or selling real estate. Besides being passionate about real estate, Barbara is very active in her community and has served on many Children's charities through her membership with Houston Junior Women Club. Barbara is married to Jerry Gready and they live in Whispering Oaks.

Dakota Garcia has real estate in her blood! She's a second-generation Realtor® who combines her love for the real estate industry with her passion for marketing. Before real estate, Dakota was in the Marketing Department for Yaga's Entertainment, Inc. The advertising skills that she learned in that position have crossed over into her real estate business – both traditional and digital skills. Dakota earned a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations from Stephen F. Austin State University, and with this foundation, she places an emphasis on stellar customer service and thorough communication. Dakota was recently engaged to longtime beau, Michael, and she lives in Pirates Beach on the West End. Two dogs, a Dachshund named Gracie and a Border Collie Mix named Penny, round out her family. Her hobbies include traveling, kayaking, exploring the West End neighborhoods on her golf cart, playing bingo and spending time at her family's' ranch in the Hill Country.

Anthonie Abshire grew up deep in the south, spending most of his years in Galveston, Texas.
