Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent? There is nothing better than a satisfied client. Real estate is one of those professions where you know whether or not you've made a difference for someone right away. I enjoy introducing our coastal area to new residents and visitors, and I love helping people fulfill a dream.

What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional? Expectations. They are rarely in line with the realities of the market. There is so much media coverage on real estate these days. And all too often, the stories are irrelevant to the buyers/sellers in my area. Real estate markets are local in nature. I provide my clients with news and local market statistics that pertain to them.

Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession. The years following Hurricane Ike were interesting to say the least. It was the first time a storm of that magnitude with that kind of destruction hit the island since 1900. At the same time, the mortgage industry imploded with the collapse of Lehman Brothers, and the country was in the early stages of a recession. What followed was a very unpredictable market for several years. It was an experience I don't think I will ever forget.

With a dedicated focus on the Brazos Valley, Houston, and Galveston regions, I bring extensive expertise and a proven track record in the real estate industry. Since obtaining my real estate license in 2016, I have specialized in various niches, including residential, new construction, farm and ranch, minerals, investment properties, commercial real estate, and coastal real estate sales through Legend Texas Properties. As an Investor/Agent, I operate two real estate investment companies, driven by a passion for addressing the affordable housing crisis and restoring dilapidated homes. Shani has a strong connection to nature and water, which is what brought her family to Galveston Island. Her husband and son share her love for the outdoors and water activities, particularly fishing in West Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Shani's early life took place in Elkhart, Kansas, and she was raised on her family's farm in Dalhart, Texas. Throughout high school and college, she was involved in rodeo, including being a Trick-rider for the 777 Rodeo Company. She pursued a nursing career during college, earning a license in Vocational Nursing from Navarro College. Shani worked as an administrative nurse in geriatric care before transitioning to real estate in the summer of 2022 when she obtained her real estate license.

Alison Christensen grew up in Houston and earned her B.A. degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University. A family vacation home in Galveston in the 90's turned into a permanent residence in 2003. "It wasn't a difficult choice: we loved the pace of 'island time' and found ourselves spending more and more time down here." Alison has an extensive knowledge of Galveston's coastal market: the West End, from beach to bay; the myriad neighborhoods - new and old - tucked throughout the island; and the windstorm and flood insurance requirements important to all property owners. "I was raised in Houston, and now Galveston is my home. I've had the best of both worlds. This combination helps me better understand and assist buyers and sellers in our market." Active in the community, she attends St. Mary's Catholic Church; volunteers with the Bryan Museum; serves as a docent with the Galveston Historic Homes Tour each May; serves on the Board of the Friends of Rosenberg Library. In 2018, Alison was elected to the Board of the Galveston Association of Realtors, and was also the featured realtor in an episode of "Beach Front Bargain Hunt" on HGTV. When she is not working with clients, Alison enjoys estate sales and vintage shops, trips to New Orleans, and entertaining her friends and family at her father's farm near Brenham. A Little About Me-

My interest and passion for Real Estate began in the early 1990's, when my husband and I were beginning the search for our first home. Since then, we have moved 6 times and lived in 4 cities in Texas. Four of these moves included building our new home. I just love the process and, yes, we are still happily married!



In the early 2000's, we continued our Real Estate adventure and purchased, remodeled and flipped 2 properties in the North Houston area. I would have to say that our very latest endeavors have been my favorite, so far. In 2019, we purchased a 1913 historic cottage, in Galveston, and completely remodeled it. We maintained the historic features and charm of the home, while bringing it up to date with all the modern conveniences. The home was featured on the GHF Historic Home Tour in 2021. We are now working on a 1900 Storm Survivor, that will hit the market soon! Having lived on the island in my youth, I grew to love everything about Galveston. I want to share that love and experience with others and can't wait to help you find your perfect Island home.
