Before she became a Realtor in 2011 (and for years after), she worked for a vacation rental and property management company in Galveston for several years. For the company, she played every role at one time or another, including taking on new vacation rental properties all over the island, taking property photos and listing the properties online for rentals, working with owners to make sure their properties were generating a satisfactory ROI while being marketed efficiently, attending Chamber of Commerce events to educate herself further about the industry, everything property management related, leasing unfurnished long-term rentals and many other tasks. Pamela Gabriel is a native Texan with a strong business and public relations background. She ranks among the top producers in Galveston and continues to be a multi-million dollar producer with award winning honors. She graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting.

Pamela has listed and sold properties throughout Galveston Island. Though she has been successful in all areas, she often focuses on resort homes located on the beach or bay on West Galveston Island. Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent? There is nothing better than a satisfied client. Real estate is one of those professions where you know whether or not you've made a difference for someone right away. I enjoy introducing our coastal area to new residents and visitors, and I love helping people fulfill a dream.

What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional? Expectations. They are rarely in line with the realities of the market. There is so much media coverage on real estate these days. And all too often, the stories are irrelevant to the buyers/sellers in my area. Real estate markets are local in nature. I provide my clients with news and local market statistics that pertain to them.

Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession. The years following Hurricane Ike were interesting to say the least. It was the first time a storm of that magnitude with that kind of destruction hit the island since 1900. At the same time, the mortgage industry imploded with the collapse of Lehman Brothers, and the country was in the early stages of a recession. What followed was a very unpredictable market for several years. It was an experience I don't think I will ever forget.

More than twenty years of working in the Historical Homes market of Galveston gives me a great background to help you find the right house easily and with minimal effort. With an annual average of 25 transactions buying, selling, and leasing properties dating from the turn of the 20th century, I have the experience needed to evaluate the property involved and determine the right pricing. I have been active in the restoration of my own Victorian era houses, and was actively involved in laying the groundwork for the formation of the San Jacinto Historical Conservation District. Currently I serve as the Texas Realtor's Region 10 political involvement committee representative. I am a past Chair of the Galveston Association of Realtors, have been Chair of the GAR Multiple Listing Service, Chair of the City of Galveston Arts and Historic Advisory Committee.
