"I love helping people find their special place on the island and helping them discover how wonderful Galveston is." Alison Christensen grew up in Houston and earned her B.A. degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University. A family vacation home in Galveston in the 90's turned into a permanent residence in 2003. "It wasn't a difficult choice: we loved the pace of 'island time' and found ourselves spending more and more time down here." Alison has an extensive knowledge of Galveston's coastal market: the West End, from beach to bay; the myriad neighborhoods - new and old - tucked throughout the island; and the windstorm and flood insurance requirements important to all property owners. "I was raised in Houston, and now Galveston is my home. I've had the best of both worlds. This combination helps me better understand and assist buyers and sellers in our market." Active in the community, she attends St. Mary's Catholic Church; volunteers with the Bryan Museum; serves as a docent with the Galveston Historic Homes Tour each May; serves on the Board of the Friends of Rosenberg Library. In 2018, Alison was elected to the Board of the Galveston Association of Realtors, and was also the featured realtor in an episode of "Beach Front Bargain Hunt" on HGTV. When she is not working with clients, Alison enjoys estate sales and vintage shops, trips to New Orleans, and entertaining her friends and family at her father's farm near Brenham. Professional Associations include: National Association of Realtors® (NAR), Houston Association of Realtors® (HAR) and Galveston Association of Realtors® (GAR). Following in their mother's footsteps, her daughter, Ali, is a recent graduate of Texas A&M, and her son, Jack, is a current student at Texas A&M in College Station.

*EXPERIENCE * EXPERIENCE* 54 YEARS FULL TIME AS A LICENSED AGENT AND BROKER* For the past 53 years, I have been engaged in the real estate business full time as a salesperson. Beginning as a Realtor in August 1967, and receiving my Brokers license in August of 1972. Prior to receiving my real estate license, I worked in the title Industry as a runner, an abstractor, an examiner and then closer (today referred to as an escrow officer.) The title business led to my interest in real estate. Residential, as well as commercial, are my areas of expertise. I recently received the designation of REALTOR EMERITUS from the National Association of REALTORS for having served over 40 years to our industry.I have been a past President of the Galveston Association of REALTORS, served on various committees, including Professional Standards, Education , MLS and Secretary of the Board of Directors. Voted Best REALTOR in Galveston in 2003 by the Galveston County Daily News . I was an adjunct instructor in real estate for 17 years at Galveston College. Taught many courses in different areas of our business. I participated in several developments of historical properties on the island as well as resort properties on the west end beach and bay areas. Recently honored by my colleague's with the Golden Heart Award for being the most helpful in our office to other agents!
Even though technology is a major force in our industry today, I still believe that personal service one-on-one or face-to-face with our clients, is the best way to build lasting relationships. Some of my closest friends started as Prospects, then Buyer or Seller Customers, many more than once or twice.
With the younger population, I enlist the expertise of the younger agents' knowledge in technology and the latest marketing techniques. You can never stop learning in our business.
When I represent your interests, you can be confident that I will devote my time and expertise to guiding your real estate transaction to a successful and satisfying closing.
