I have fond childhood memories of Galveston and appreciate the advantage that growing up on the island has given me in my career as a local real estate professional. My family moved to Galveston when I was 5 years old from New Orleans, La. I attended St Mary’s Elementary, O’Connell Junior High and O’Connell High School. Our family home was one block from the seawall and I spent most of my summers on the beach surfing and fishing.

After high school, I attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978. After graduation, I was drawn back to the coast and I joined a Houston-based geophysical exploration company embarking on a 25-year career in the international oilfield services industry. Over the years, my job responsibilities required travel to all parts of the world and included longer residencies in Anchorage, Alaska, London and Rio de Janeiro.

Upon leaving the oilfield services industry in 2003 and returning to the United States from London, my wife and I settled in Jamaica Beach. We bought a waterfront home and have been remodeling it ever since! We could have settled anywhere, but the Galveston sand and salt air beckoned and returning home seemed the right thing to do. We don%u219t regret it one bit, and moving to the "West End" is proving to be a very positive quality-of-life decision. When not working, I can be found fishing in West Galveston Bay, working in our garden, or walking our Airedale Terrier, Olive Oyl.

Having the advantage of growing up here means I have an in-depth familiarity with all neighborhoods and all aspects of living on Galveston Island. My experiences with professional IT Systems, business software, health & safety management issues and multi-cultural environments compliment my professional real estate skills. Most importantly, being professionally trained in a service-driven environment compels me to offer the highest quality of customer service. As the world of real estate transactions evolve, it is clear that only technology and first-class service will differentiate real estate practitioners.

Since being licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission as a Real Estate Salesperson, I have obtained the following accreditations from the National Association of Realtors: ePro – Internet Marketing, GRI – Graduate Realtor Institute, ABR – Accredited Buyers Representative, SFR – Short Sales and Foreclosures. As a native Galvestonian (BOI) Born on the island has always been a special place for me. After graduating, from Ball High School, I went to work for The San Luis Resort as the Condominium Concierge. While being a great opportunity to meet many interesting people who visit the Island such as Vice President Al Gore, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, Francis Newman Moody, Ruth Harris Kempner and Mr. and Mrs. Hershey (chocolate) six generation descendants from Pennsylvania, I went off to Pharmacy school in South Dakota. Then I went to work for Rapid Regional Hospital Pharmacy and Pharmerica. While expanding my knowledge of Medicines I still yearn to be back home in Galveston, an island with its rich and colorful history. The next 15 years were very busy for me while filling prescriptions at Walmart Pharmacy at the same time I took on a Management position with ABL Management. During this busy period I began to invest in my future with real estate which peeked my interest. Now as a Realtor I am able to pursue my passion for real estate and customer service in facilitating your buying and selling experience in a professional environment. Katie became a resident of Galveston as soon as she could, in 2019. Katie entered the real estate industry after a long career in dentistry, serving as a dental hygienist in the Houston, Austin, and Galveston areas for over 20 years. Her love of helping others carries through into helping folks find a place to call home or to sell their home. Having grown up next door, in Louisiana, Katie attended LSU for a degree in Allied Health, then on to Georgia State University for a degree in Dental Hygiene. She does consider herself to be a true Cajun, but made her way to Texas in 2002. Since moving to Galveston, Katie has become immersed in the community in many ways. Serving her church parish and her daughters school, Holy Family Catholic School, in numerous planning committees and boards. Katie has also volunteered with the Galveston Historical Foundation and is a supporter of small business owners in Galveston. Katie has also become involved with Galveston's City Council members, aiding them in their campaigns etc, to continually better our community for our residents. Katie has a love of sharing Galveston's history and it's uniqueness and this really shows when she interacts with anyone here! She is working on becoming a Certified Tourism Ambassador for the island. Katie knows that every clients' needs are unique and is dedicated to providing specialized attention to each individual. She does continuously attend continuing education seminars as well as various meetings around town to always stay informed on what is going on concerning our island. Katie has 2 grown sons and a daughter. One son is an Electrician in Galveston, the other is an aspiring college baseball player, and her daughter is just beginning elementary school! Being an active participant in our community is very important to Katie and her family, to continue to make this an even more amazing place to live!
