In 2004, Jana Turner, a native Houstonian, decided to permanently trade in her city life for the laid-back lifestyle of Galveston Island. Her passion for coastal living has been passed down to her three daughters, each of whom lives on a different coast: East, West and Gulf. Having a love of Galveston Island all her life, she has owned beachside, bayside and historical properties and has an affinity for each type of retreat. Jana prides herself on helping buyers find the perfect home according to their lifestyle.

Committed to stellar customer service, Jana has earned her designations as CLHMS (Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist), SRS (Seller Representative Specialist), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), and GRI (Graduate Real Estate Institute) designations and RSPS (Resort and Second Home Property Specialist). Jana has been heavily involved in many philanthropic endeavors and especially enjoyed her work as a child advocate for Fort Bend CASA. She is a member of the Galveston Historical Foundation and sits on the advisory board of The 1894 Grand Opera House. Hobbies include tennis, reading, mahjongg, traveling, walking on the beach and spending time with family and friends.

With over 20 years' experience in the real estate industry, Karen Keating is an Associate Broker at Coldwell Banker Realty. Karen strives to use her knowledge to help people maximize their real estate returns and homeownership experience.

Karen Keating has lived all over the world, from Bakersfield, California to Villars, Switzerland and points in-between, but has called Houston home since 1999. A recognized top producing Realtor Karen's market focus is the growing community south of Houston that includes Clear Lake, League City, Friendswood, Alvin, Galveston and Seabrook.

Karen has been named one of Houston Association of REALTORS' Top Producing REALTORS. She earned the prestigious awards of Circle of Excellence while at Martha Turner Properties and 100% Club while at RE/MAX. She considers her strengths to be extensive up-to-date market knowledge, excellent negotiating skills and successful marketing. Karen particularly enjoys helping families to relocate as she identifies with both the excitement of moving and its challenges. She also enjoys mentoring agents and teaching the fundamentals of the industry.

Karen Keating holds a broker's license and is also a licensed T.R.E.C. Instructor who taught QE, SAE and MCE courses at Champions School for Real Estate. She holds many designations including Accredited Buyer's Representative, Broker Price Opinion REALTOR, and the National Association of REALTORS GREEN Designation, a reflection of her commitment to sustainability, cost efficiency, and community.

A graduate of the University of Arizona at Tucson, Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree. When not selling real estate, Karen enjoys mentoring other REALTOR's to help them grow their business. Karen has served as a volunteer for the HAR Professional Development committee. She is a former board member of the Bay Area Builders Association. She served on the Texas Association of REALTORS Member Benefits committee and was a member of the Land Development Task Force. Karen lives in Webster, Texas. She enjoys boating, cooking and literature.

I have fond childhood memories of Galveston and appreciate the advantage that growing up on the island has given me in my career as a local real estate professional. My family moved to Galveston when I was 5 years old from New Orleans, La. I attended St Mary’s Elementary, O’Connell Junior High and O’Connell High School. Our family home was one block from the seawall and I spent most of my summers on the beach surfing and fishing.

After high school, I attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978. After graduation, I was drawn back to the coast and I joined a Houston-based geophysical exploration company embarking on a 25-year career in the international oilfield services industry. Over the years, my job responsibilities required travel to all parts of the world and included longer residencies in Anchorage, Alaska, London and Rio de Janeiro.

Upon leaving the oilfield services industry in 2003 and returning to the United States from London, my wife and I settled in Jamaica Beach. We bought a waterfront home and have been remodeling it ever since! We could have settled anywhere, but the Galveston sand and salt air beckoned and returning home seemed the right thing to do. We don%u219t regret it one bit, and moving to the "West End" is proving to be a very positive quality-of-life decision. When not working, I can be found fishing in West Galveston Bay, working in our garden, or walking our Airedale Terrier, Olive Oyl.

Having the advantage of growing up here means I have an in-depth familiarity with all neighborhoods and all aspects of living on Galveston Island. My experiences with professional IT Systems, business software, health & safety management issues and multi-cultural environments compliment my professional real estate skills. Most importantly, being professionally trained in a service-driven environment compels me to offer the highest quality of customer service. As the world of real estate transactions evolve, it is clear that only technology and first-class service will differentiate real estate practitioners.

Since being licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission as a Real Estate Salesperson, I have obtained the following accreditations from the National Association of Realtors: ePro – Internet Marketing, GRI – Graduate Realtor Institute, ABR – Accredited Buyers Representative, SFR – Short Sales and Foreclosures. I am an active member of the Houston Association of Realtors and the Galveston Association of Realtors.

I have been a Real Estate Professional for 43 years. My parents owned a real estate office so I grew up in the business. My vast experience and knowledge of the real estate market and mortgage process always results in finding the right property for my clients. My negotiating ability gives my clients an advantage. My wife Debbie and I work as a team. Debbie handles the processing and with her background as a mortgage broker she has the ability to help clients understand the loan process. I am a top HUD and bank foreclosure specialist with over 15 years. Our years of experience in not only good markets, but also in the down markets, attest to our ability to adjust in changing times.
