In 2004, Jana Turner, a native Houstonian, decided to permanently trade in her city life for the laid-back lifestyle of Galveston Island. Her passion for coastal living has been passed down to her three daughters, each of whom lives on a different coast: East, West and Gulf. Having a love of Galveston Island all her life, she has owned beachside, bayside and historical properties and has an affinity for each type of retreat. Melissa was born into a 3rd generation of home builders who took pride in providing housing for local Galvestonians. With a passion for real estate and interior design, she earned her Bachelors Degree in Interior Design, received her real estate license in 2010 and also earned the Accredited Staging Professional designation. I have fond childhood memories of Galveston and appreciate the advantage that growing up on the island has given me in my career as a local real estate professional. My family moved to Galveston when I was 5 years old from New Orleans, La. I attended St Mary’s Elementary, O’Connell Junior High and O’Connell High School. Our family home was one block from the seawall and I spent most of my summers on the beach surfing and fishing.

After high school, I attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978. After graduation, I was drawn back to the coast and I joined a Houston-based geophysical exploration company embarking on a 25-year career in the international oilfield services industry. Over the years, my job responsibilities required travel to all parts of the world and included longer residencies in Anchorage, Alaska, London and Rio de Janeiro.

Upon leaving the oilfield services industry in 2003 and returning to the United States from London, my wife and I settled in Jamaica Beach. We bought a waterfront home and have been remodeling it ever since! We could have settled anywhere, but the Galveston sand and salt air beckoned and returning home seemed the right thing to do. We don%u219t regret it one bit, and moving to the "West End" is proving to be a very positive quality-of-life decision. When not working, I can be found fishing in West Galveston Bay, working in our garden, or walking our Airedale Terrier, Olive Oyl.

Having the advantage of growing up here means I have an in-depth familiarity with all neighborhoods and all aspects of living on Galveston Island. My experiences with professional IT Systems, business software, health & safety management issues and multi-cultural environments compliment my professional real estate skills. Most importantly, being professionally trained in a service-driven environment compels me to offer the highest quality of customer service. As the world of real estate transactions evolve, it is clear that only technology and first-class service will differentiate real estate practitioners.

Since being licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission as a Real Estate Salesperson, I have obtained the following accreditations from the National Association of Realtors: ePro – Internet Marketing, GRI – Graduate Realtor Institute, ABR – Accredited Buyers Representative, SFR – Short Sales and Foreclosures. My name is Suzanne Estrada and I grew up in Galveston, Texas. I've been working in real estate for 25+ years and enjoy every aspect of the business. I have always had a passion for helping people, I was a registered nurse for many years as well as a personal trainer. After relocating to Jamaica beach in 2014, I made the professional change to real estate. I make customer service my number one priority when finding my client's their dream home. I am hard-working, devoted and don't stop until the job is done right! I currently live on Dickinson Bay with my husband where we enjoy hosting guest, playing with our dogs, and evening golf cart rides. I also have a big adventure side, I love paddle boarding, cycling and crossfit. One of my biggest joys is spending time with our two children.
