What special or unique characteristics do you feel you would bring to the Director position that would most benefit HAR's members?

I think I bring a combination of variables that represent a growing audience and future of our member community and industry. I have been involved in real estate for 12 years as of today and in those 12 years I have successfully experienced the lending side half of those years as a retail loan officer, retail branch manager, loan officer & Lending manager partner. The other half has been as a real estate agent, buyer agent, listing agent and team leader (10 members as today between 7 agents and 3 staff members). Most importantly I have able to grow my personal relationship with God and my family; these same years have given me a unique perspective on how to grow personally and professionally with balance, consistency, stability and loving what I do and how I do it. Being an intense and passionate active daily practitioner helps me to understand what others need to accomplish their dreams. I am surely not perfect but I make every day count with perfect effort. I believe my passion and drive to make the industry better and Real Estate as a career will only bring positive ideas and challenging thoughts that over all will set us to continue the path for a better future.

What do you believe is the greatest challenge facing our industry today?

Great question! It really depends who is your audience… • The market: Lack of inventories, uncertainty due to election season, current underperforming economy markets, and overload of information for the consumers • Agents: Lack of self-involvement on professional development, opportunity to be up to date on technology tools, understanding the basics of this career and the daily job tasks, understanding how to find the best broker/office fit and high industry turn over (within offices and exiting the industry) , understanding fiduciary duties • Association: Get involved more on the pre licenses orientations, lack of career fairs • TREC : How to get your real estate license and stay licensed • Consumers: Overload of online information, lack of inventories . There is a lot of room for opportunity that we can control. I am confident that with the right leadership we will be able to continue the path for a better future!
