What special or unique characteristics do you feel you would bring to the Director position that would most benefit HAR's members?

I moved to the US in 2004 and have been involved with HAR on many different committees over the past several years while being a member since 2005. The credit for my success being a new agent and being able to close over 350 transactions goes to the vast number of training classes and the extensive tools that HAR provides. This experience gives me unique perspective on what HAR offers and what HAR should offer to continue being the premier real estate organization for Realtors AND consumers. Being a Director will allow me to continue to contribute at a higher level than I have been able to in the past on the committees. I leverage technology in my business and will use the Director position to help HAR be more relevant to Realtors through improved technology. My husband and I are a small team at a large brokerage office so I have great perspective on the benefits of HAR to it's members who are from both large & small firms.

What do you believe is the greatest challenge facing our industry today?

Technology in the form of both Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data sharing with consumers directly is the greatest challenge to our industry. As Artificial Intelligence becomes more powerful and improves in it's ability to read and calculate home values and ask relevant questions to consumers, the role of a human in the real estate transaction will reduce. Therefore, it is extremely important for HAR to focus on reminding the consumer that Realtors are their advisors on one of the biggest investments in their lives and make their experience very personal, guided, and safe. Technology cannot make a consumer feel secure or represented in their decision & transaction management and a REALTOR can!
