What special or unique characteristics do you feel you would bring to the Director position that would most benefit HAR's members?

I have had several years of involvement at the local and state level, and now at the national level, and know the importance of working with staff and membership to move the organization forward. I feel I have a very unique understanding of how HAR and our members fit into the big picture, and how our relationships with other associations can benefit all members. I frequent our association and council events as much as possible so that I can engage with our members and I feel strongly that a director must be available and approachable to serve as many members as possible, not just those who are already actively serving or involved. Our newer members and our less involved members have a unique perspective and unique needs that are often unheard.

What do you believe is the greatest challenge facing our industry today?

Our greatest challenge is to make our services relevant and valuable to the consumer. We must be seen as the experts. We must provide a service that technology alone cannot. We must continue to be the experts in our industry so that our services are critical to the consumer. We must keep our agents informed, educated and valued and make sure that the consumer knows our value.
