Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. Zilker Elementary School's three out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Science and with 25% student progress. Mainspring Schools did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Zilker Elementary School. They make up for 62.63% of student population, followed by Hispanics (24.20%), Two or More Races (6.79%), African Americans (2.97%), Asians (2.97%) and Native Americans (0.21%).
At Mainspring Schools, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 56.00% of student population, followed by African Americans (36.00%) and Whites or Caucasians (8.00%). There is no Asians, Native Americans and Two or More Racesstudents in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Zilker Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 21.66% compared to 92.00% at Mainspring Schools.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Zilker Elementary School has 20 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 4.25% of student population. Mainspring Schools has no ELLS student population.
Zilker Elementary School 9.55% are in the special education program, 7.43% are in the gifted and talented program, and bilingual students comprise 24.63% students. Mainspring Schools has no gifted and talented and bilingual students, while 4.00% are in the special education program.
