Choosing the right middle school for your children can prove to be a daunting task. Middle school is when children start to flex their growing independence. Schools focus on preparing them for the more rigorous academic grind in high school.

On the other hand, Olle Middle School also earned a State accountability rating of B. The school posted 69 in student achievement, 85 in school progress, 77 in closing performance gaps and 83 overall in post-secondary readiness.
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Both schools garnered only three distinction designations or awards for performance. For Youngblood Intermediate these are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics and post-secondary while Olle Middle School secured in Social Studies, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Youngblood Intermediate. They make up for 50.64% of student population, followed by African Americans (24.91%), Asians (19.35%), Whites or Caucasians (3.71%), Native Americans (0.93%) and Two or More Races (0.46%).
At Olle Middle School, Hispanics make up 77.49% of student population, followed by African Americans (16.71%), Asians (2.94%), Whites or Caucasians (1.80%), Native Americans (0.85%) and Two or More Races (0.09%).
Based on household incomes, the Youngblood Intermediate’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 84.13% compared to 87.75% at Olle Middle School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Youngblood Intermediate has 523 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 60.60% of student population. Olle Middle School has significantly more ELLs at 614 or about 58.31% of student population.
Youngblood Intermediate’s bilingual students comprise 63.62%, gifted and talented students, 8.69%, while 14.25% are in the special education program. Olle Middle School bilingual students comprise 58.12%, gifted and talented students, 3.99%, and 9.59% are in the special education program.
Youngblood Intermediate's 70 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 10.5 years with individual teaching experience averaging 13.1 years. Teachers at Olle Middle School, numbering 83 teachers, have been serving the school for an average of 6.7 years with individual teaching experience averaging 9.5 years.
Of its teaching staff, Youngblood Intermediate has three teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has 12 teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 26 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, 11 teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 16 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including two beginning teachers.
