Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Warner Elementary School, which is a part of CYPRESS-FAIRBANKS ISD, with Francone Elementary School, which is a part of CYPRESS-FAIRBANKS ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Warner Elementary School has a regular student population of 1,172 with a 18.4 students/teacher ratio while Francone Elementary School has 813 students and a student-teacher ratio of 13.9 students/teacher ratio.
Warner Elementary School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
It is in this area where the two schools differ. Warner Elementary School's four out of seven distinctions are in Science, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Francone Elementary School’s only distinction designation is in Science.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Asians comprise the biggest group at Warner Elementary School. They make up for 32.94% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (30.29%), Hispanics (18.26%), African Americans (12.97%), Two or More Races (5.38%) and Native Americans (0.17%).
The student population at Francone Elementary School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 49.94%, followed by African Americans (38.01%), Whites or Caucasians (5.29%), Two or More Races (3.94%), Asians (2.09%) and Native Americans (0.74%).
Based on household incomes, the Warner Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 19.28% compared to 88.31% at Francone Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Warner Elementary School has a higher number of English Language Learners comprising 16.47% of its student population compared to 22.76% at Francone Elementary School.
Warner Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 15.70%, gifted and talented students, 15.02%, while 9.22% are in the special education program. Francone Elementary School bilingual students comprise 21.89%, gifted and talented students, 0.86%, and 12.42% are in the special education program.

The 58 teachers at Francone Elementary School have been serving the school for an average of 6.2 years with individual teaching experience averaging 9.1 years.

In both schools, female teachers outnumber the male teachers. At Warner Elementary School there are 59 female teachers and four male teachers.
