W W Samuell High School’s regular student population is 1,875 with a student-teacher ratio of 14.9 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet is 468 students and a student-teacher ratio of 18 students/teacher ratio.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet's six out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. W W Samuell High School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in W W Samuell High School is Hispanics who make up nearly 84.11% of student population, followed by African Americans (13.39%), Whites or Caucasians (1.76%), Native Americans (0.53%), Two or More Races (0.16%) and Asians (0.05%).
At Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet, Hispanics make up 75.00% of student population, followed by African Americans (15.60%), Whites or Caucasians (4.91%), Asians (2.78%), Two or More Races (1.50%) and Native Americans (0.21%).
Based on household incomes, W W Samuell High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 92.69% compared to 73.29% at Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, W W Samuell High School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 58.29% of its student population compared to 10.68% at Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet.
In addition, W W Samuell High School has 54.72% bilingual students, 9.81% are in the gifted and talented program, while 12.53% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet with 10.90% bilingual students, 48.93% gifted and talented students and 0.64% students in the special education program.
