It is in this area where the two schools differ. Sst The Woodlands’s only distinction designation is in Comparative Academic Growth. Sst Champions's three out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics and with 25% student progress.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Sst The Woodlands. They make up for 56.12% of student population, followed by African Americans (29.32%), Whites or Caucasians (6.99%), Asians (3.69%), Two or More Races (2.91%) and Native Americans (0.78%).
The student population at Sst Champions is also predominantly by Hispanics at 41.22%, followed by African Americans (37.50%), Whites or Caucasians (11.01%), Asians (4.17%), Two or More Races (3.57%) and Native Americans (2.08%).
Based on household incomes, Sst The Woodlands’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 77.86% compared to 64.73% at Sst Champions.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Sst The Woodlands has 134 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 26.02% of student population. Sst Champions has significantly more ELLs at 159 or about 23.66% of student population.
Sst The Woodlands’s bilingual students comprise 25.63%, gifted and talented students, 4.08%, while 10.49% are in the special education program. Sst Champions bilingual students comprise 22.77%, gifted and talented students, 3.87%, and 9.23% are in the special education program.
