Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Both schools garnered only five distinction designations or awards for outstanding performance. For Rowe Middle School these are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Science, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps while Kahla Middle School secured in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, post-secondary and with 25% student progress.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Rowe Middle School. They make up for 58.84% of student population, followed by African Americans (29.38%), Whites or Caucasians (6.70%), Asians (3.23%), Two or More Races (1.37%) and Native Americans (0.48%).
At Kahla Middle School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 56.42% of student population, followed by African Americans (25.06%), Asians (7.99%), Whites or Caucasians (6.69%), Two or More Races (2.31%) and Native Americans (1.38%).
Based on household incomes, the Rowe Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is lower at 77.80% compared to 78.63% at Kahla Middle School.
