When we compared Rosemont Middle School, which is a part of FORT WORTH ISD, with Leonard Middle School, which is a part of FORT WORTH ISD, we noted a huge gap in ratings.
Rosemont Middle School’s regular student population is 1,303 with a 17.3 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Leonard Middle School is 665 students and a 13.5 students/teacher ratio.
Rosemont Middle School earned a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 60 in student achievement, 74 in school progress and 74 in closing performance gaps. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Rosemont Middle School and Leonard Middle School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Rosemont Middle School is Hispanics who make up nearly 89.95% of student population, followed by African Americans (4.60%), Whites or Caucasians (3.15%), Asians (1.53%), Two or More Races (0.54%) and Native Americans (0.23%).
The student population at Leonard Middle School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 48.42%, followed by African Americans (36.54%), Whites or Caucasians (10.38%), Two or More Races (3.76%), Asians (0.75%) and Native Americans (0.15%).
Based on household incomes, Rosemont Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is higher at 95.17% compared to 93.38% at Leonard Middle School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Rosemont Middle School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 61.63% of its student population compared to 26.92% at Leonard Middle School.
Rosemont Middle School’s bilingual students comprise 56.95%, gifted and talented students, 13.35%, while 10.74% are in the special education program. Leonard Middle School bilingual students comprise 24.96%, gifted and talented students, 8.42%, and 12.48% are in the special education program.
