Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Clayton Elementary School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Oak Hill Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Oak Hill Elementary School. They make up for 51.05% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (37.84%), Two or More Races (4.80%), Asians (4.35%), African Americans (1.65%) and Native Americans (0.15%).
At Clayton Elementary School, Whites or Caucasians are the biggest group, comprising 56.26% of student population, followed by Hispanics (18.08%), Asians (17.47%), Two or More Races (7.11%), Native Americans (0.46%) and African Americans (0.31%).
Based on household incomes, Oak Hill Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 42.49% compared to 4.79% at Clayton Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Oak Hill Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 38.14% of its student population compared to 6.18% at Clayton Elementary School.
In addition, Oak Hill Elementary School has 43.99% bilingual students, 6.91% are in the gifted and talented program, while 12.61% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Clayton Elementary School with 6.18% bilingual students, 13.14% gifted and talented students and 13.76% students in the special education program.
