Northwood Hills Elementary School's one out of seven distinction is in Science. Merriman Park Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Northwood Hills Elementary School. They make up for 50.86% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (26.91%), African Americans (16.54%), Two or More Races (4.94%) and Asians (0.74%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
The student population at Merriman Park Elementary School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 47.27%, followed by African Americans (30.13%), Hispanics (17.51%), Two or More Races (2.82%) and Asians (2.07%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
Based on household incomes, Northwood Hills Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 58.27% compared to 39.55% at Merriman Park Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Northwood Hills Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 32.84% of its student population compared to 11.68% at Merriman Park Elementary School.
In addition, Northwood Hills Elementary School has 32.84% bilingual students, 4.94% are in the gifted and talented program, while 18.02% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Merriman Park Elementary School with 11.68% bilingual students, 7.72% gifted and talented students and 13.18% students in the special education program.
