Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for McDougle Elementary School and Greenwood Forest Elementary School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in McDougle Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 78.49% of student population, followed by African Americans (11.82%), Asians (6.78%), Whites or Caucasians (1.36%), Two or More Races (0.97%) and Native Americans (0.58%).
At Greenwood Forest Elementary School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 61.62% of student population, followed by African Americans (24.41%), Asians (5.00%), Whites or Caucasians (4.85%), Two or More Races (3.97%) and Native Americans (0.15%).
Based on household incomes, McDougle Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 87.21% compared to 70.88% at Greenwood Forest Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, McDougle Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 58.91% of its student population compared to 32.21% at Greenwood Forest Elementary School.
McDougle Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 61.24%, gifted and talented students, 1.74%, while 13.76% are in the special education program. Greenwood Forest Elementary School bilingual students comprise 32.35%, gifted and talented students, 1.47%, and 14.56% are in the special education program.
