Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Marcella Elementary School's two out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics and with 25% student progress. Ogden Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Marcella Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 79.50% of student population, followed by African Americans (16.13%), Whites or Caucasians (1.68%), Two or More Races (1.68%), Asians (0.84%) and Native Americans (0.17%).
The student population at Ogden Elementary School is also predominantly by African Americans at 49.29%, followed by Hispanics (44.88%), Two or More Races (2.12%), Whites or Caucasians (1.59%), Native Americans (1.06%) and Asians (0.35%).
Based on household incomes, the Marcella Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is lower at 88.57% compared to 90.81% at Ogden Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Marcella Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 68.57% of its student population compared to 24.56% at Ogden Elementary School.
In addition, Marcella Elementary School has 66.89% bilingual students, 1.18% are in the gifted and talented program, while 8.91% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Ogden Elementary School with 21.55% bilingual students, 3.00% gifted and talented students and 11.48% students in the special education program.
