Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Lamkin Elementary School, which is a part of CYPRESS-FAIRBANKS ISD, with Sampson Elementary School, which is a part of CYPRESS-FAIRBANKS ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Lamkin Elementary School has a regular student population of 892 with a 15.6 students/teacher ratio while Sampson Elementary School has 860 students and a student-teacher ratio of 17.9 students/teacher ratio.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Sampson Elementary School's three out of seven distinctions are in Science, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Lamkin Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Lamkin Elementary School. They make up for 35.09% of student population, followed by African Americans (26.57%), Whites or Caucasians (24.66%), Asians (6.95%), Two or More Races (5.83%) and Native Americans (0.90%).
At Sampson Elementary School, Whites or Caucasians are the biggest group, comprising 54.53% of student population, followed by Hispanics (20.70%), Asians (14.19%), Two or More Races (5.23%), African Americans (5.12%) and Native Americans (0.23%).
Based on household incomes, Lamkin Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 67.71% compared to 11.98% at Sampson Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Lamkin Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 9.64% of its student population compared to 6.28% at Sampson Elementary School.
In addition, Lamkin Elementary School has 9.53% bilingual students, 3.25% are in the gifted and talented program, while 15.58% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Sampson Elementary School with 5.81% bilingual students, 11.16% gifted and talented students and 9.30% students in the special education program.
